Creating Space for God

So many times, we start the new year off with goals to launch, execute and do big things, and as the year progresses, we lose sight of our dreams and lose momentum and before you know it, the year is almost over only for us to realize that we have accomplished the things we set out to accomplish.

This often happens not because we lack discipline or the skill but because we created our plans yet weren't proactive in welcoming God's presence or consulting him to see what he had to say. We did the work and then asked him to bless the work we did. On this CROWNED Life Journey, I learned that God would never cosign to something he wasn't involved in from the beginning. As you create plans and vision boards, allow your plans to include what God has to say, and IF he doesn't say anything, don't fill the space and leave room for God to speak in his timing, not ours. I want to drop jewels on the benefits, ramifications, and (jewels) we can use to intentionally create space for God in this year and the year to come.

Benefits

  • Fluid Plans Are Created- This allows for flexibility within your schedule, my schedule used to be so rigid, and if anything changed, it would throw off everything. There is more rest, more family time, and a more fulfilled life.

  • There Is Room For Enhancement – This allows me to make things better, meaning that there are multiple versions, and that's okay. It's permitting God to enhance whatever it is he has given me.

  • Change Can Occur- Don't be so committed to the plans that you are not willing to allow change to happen. The goal will stay the same, and the vision may evolve, and that's okay.

  • You can Pivot Faster -When you are not so rigid and stuck on your plans when God switches everything up, you don't sit and soak forever; you pivot because you understand that the character of God is consistent and whatever he is doing is for your good.

Ramifications

  • Doesn't Give God Space To Move- Don't Put God inbox when we put our limited views on an unlimited God. It doesn't allow us to experience him in all his glory. Instead, we become updated that he didn't do it the way we wanted him to.

  • Face an Internal Battle- The internal struggle is accurate, and I have (still have) them. It's the crossroad of what you don't want to do, but what God is calling you to do, at some point you have to make a decision when I have made decisions to choose God will triumph over my will, I won regardless. When we understand God, the internal battle (you fighting God) then becomes an inner peace (you trusting God regardless)

  • Lack of Acceptance slows Overall Momentum – When it takes a long time to accept God's direction, you lose overall momentum, which is the perfect breeding ground for competition and comparison.
