Creating A Sustainable Business Model
I felt a little hesitant about writing this blog, I felt like I was unqualified to write a blog in regards to business because Kingsskid has not made profits consistently.
A business model is defined as a design for the successful operation of a business, identifying revenue sources, customer base, products, and details of financing.
My model has previously been that I would attend conferences as a vendor and gain both the and recognition and sales at those conferences, however, as COVID started to happen and the lay off happen I decided that I need to shift my business model and I desire for Kingsskid to be a place for all things personal and professional development so creating downloadable content, developing courses, books, workbooks, working with brands to sponsor events, speaking and maybe even life coaching.
Changing my business model has allowed me to focus, cultivate the things that are in my hand, and learn the things that I need to learn to get to where I desire to be. In my changing my business model I knew that just attending conferences to make profits would not be sustainable in the long run. Having clarity around what I desire for the blog allows me to stay focused on the goals at hand, they allow me not to just sign and partner with anyone. It allows me to check my garden to make sure that I am doing my due dull diligence in planting and watering the seeds I am responsible for.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with changing your business model to diversify your offerings, in fact, based on whatever market you are in, you should always be looking for ways to grow, enhance and develop your brand.
I think the secret sauce to gaining a full understanding of what you want your business model to be is to make sure you be in tune with what God is telling you regarding your business, allowing him to lead, guide, and provide insight to you. I have seen God do more with me and business in the past 5 months and I have taken the passenger seat and allowed him to take the driver's seat.
As Covid19 has shifted our lives, don't be afraid to seek God and ask for clarification in regards to how to shift your business to be able to sustain throughout times like these.
Remember the Kingsskid Affirmation, I am here to seek and create crowning moments, don't just work to seek the crowning moments, go and create them because in the end only what you do for Christ will last..even your business model!
1 John 2:15-17 NLT 15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
