The Teacup and The Tea

When God is pouring into us, we are to pour into others and stay near to him so we are never operating on an empty cup but from a cup that is flavorful and a cup that is representatives of God and his plan for our lives.

The teacup is served full of tea.

As you drink your tea, the amount of tea within the cup diminishes and the cup eventually becomes empty.

God is our teacup and we are the tea.

We are created to live full and die empty.

As God pours more and more into us we should be pouring into others

We should also realize your cup of tea may be different from my cup of tea. Meaning that God uses different ingredients to pour into us because he has a different plan for each one of us.

To understand the ingredients that God is giving to you, it is imperative that we stay near to him and continuously seek him because he will not reveal all the ingredients to you at the same time (for example it took me about 3 years to fully understand KingssKid and it took me about 6-8 months to accept that this blog is apart of my calling). So be patient and trust God's promises and timing (Romans 8:28)

Know that God gives us tools to equip us for our purpose and ways to stay near to him. Those tools include:

  • The Holy Bible: the bible has sooo many stories that are relevant to our lives- it's full of instructions and ways to overcome our trials and triumphs.

  • Daily Devotions- I love daily devotions, I usually buy a new daily devotional book every year and I read daily devotionals on my bible app which is helpful as well

  • People - God reveals things to us through people. I have had people speak things into my life about topics I only prayed to God about.

  • Music- God also reveals things to us through music. Music soothes the soul!

  • Discernment is needed throughout all of these examples. Discernment is defined as the perception in the absence of judgment to obtain spiritual direction and understanding or the ability to judge well. Staying in tune with God helps us gain discernment, patience, and understanding.

When God is pouring into us, we are to pour into others and stay near to him so we are never operating on an empty cup but from a cup that is flavorful and a cup that is representative of God and his plan for our lives.
