The Chief Cornerstone: Confidence, Courage, and Conviction
Ephesians 2:20 NLT: Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.
The Son of God descended from heaven's seat,
Not with grandeur but on weary streets.
For man’s sin He bore the shame,
To perfect love, He gave His name.
Twelve He chose, an inner three,
To walk beside Divinity.
Multitudes He fed, the seventy-two,
Strength in healing, teaching true.
In the garden, His soul did plea,
“Let this cup pass away from me.”
Yet love prevailed, His will aligned,
To the Father’s plan, a love divine.
Questioned, bruised, battered, and torn,
For us, the crown of thorns was worn.
Pierced in His side, He breathed release,
And whispered, “It is finished,” in holy peace.
For three days the grave held tight,
Until He rose in glorious might.
Death defeated, the veil now torn,
Our cornerstone, forever sworn.
When you know the weight of His sacrifice,
A Savior’s love, the ultimate price,
It calls us upward, to a life refined,
A legacy of prophets, apostles aligned.
We are His house, the Scripture states,
Built on the truth, where love creates.
Not for perfection, but with conviction,
That Christ is Lord over every affliction.
Jesus Christ, our cornerstone, is the foundation upon which all life is built. His love is not just an act of sacrifice but a call to rise into the legacy of faith we have inherited. As we meditate on His love, let it propel us to live with deeper conviction—not for our glory but to declare His Lordship in every aspect of our lives.
Reflect on this truth today, and let it inspire you to build a life anchored in Him, knowing that the assignment is bigger than you—it’s about His kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
