What do I share as an intern on LinkedIn?

Now the title may be intern, but I want
you to reassess your personal LinkedIn sometime this month as well.

It can be haunting to post on LinkedIn but it doesn't have to be. When I have the opportunities to chat with college students, I always ask "what are you posting on Instagram?" and my follow-up question is "what are you posting on LinkedIn?" and I often get an answer of very little because they really don't know what to post as an intern on LinkedIn.

Below I am dropping jewels as to things you can post as an intern on LinkedIn:

Jewel #1: Projects you are working on and how those projects correlate with your studies
Jewel #2: Lessons Learned from a specific topic or event
Jewel #3: Pictures with permission of you having a coffee chat with a fellow intern or leader
Jewel #4: Industry journals how your company is working to solve a specific problem.
Jewel #5: Share how your internship as helped advanced your career

Here's the thing, LinkedIn is the number one, not the only one, but perhaps the number one network in which professionals connect and are recommended for career opportunities, so just as your Instagram is LIT, so should your LinkedIn.

What would you add to the list of jewels for interns to post on their LinkedIn profile?

During this month I invited some of my super friends to share with me their thoughts on what to post on LinkedIn.

JaCarlos and I interned together two consecutive summers, he has worked in Retail Management, Education and currently works in Oil and Gas. Lets's read what advice JaCarlos would give interns.

JaCarlos Davis- Washington- You should post your volunteer experience and articles related to industry/field you're working in. Work to increase capacity for networking with individuals from potential organizations. Have a professional photo. Your LinkedIn bio should include where you are and what you have accomplished, and make sure your open to opportunities feature is visible.
