Attitude Checklist
Greetings Kings and Queens,
Do you have an attitude checklist? Do you know what an attitude checklist is?
If the answer to the questions above is no, it’s okay!
Attitude Checklist is the process of transforming a negative attitude into a positive attitude by understanding how and why we allow barriers (i.e. Bitterness, stubbornness) to block our productivity and happiness (i,e.peace, joy)
The term attitude checklist came to mind when I decided that it was time for me to change my attitude about a series of recent events in my life. I was upset, bitter, and angry. I wanted to also hold onto being angry, even though it would not have benefitted me in any way, shape, or form.
I decided that I wanted to RESET and have a better attitude about the recent events that occurred in my life. I decided that I needed to write in my prayer journal as soon as possible. As I wrote in my prayer journal, I discovered and revisited a few things:
You choose your attitude; don't allow your attitude to choose you
Some things are genuinely out of your control-learn to be okay with things out of your control
I have to be deliberate in my quest for God and happiness in a world full of chaos
As I continued to write in my journal I realized that I needed an attitude checklist: (checklist below)
Why am I mad?
Did I Pray?
Yes-No-If no, why?
Is it out of my control?
Yes - No - If no, why?
Did I talk to someone about it?
Yes- No - If no, why?
Where can I find inspiration?
Song- Music-Scripture-Poem- Article, Conversation
Did I find inspiration?
Yes-Where
No-Why
Do you think it is time to hit the RESET button?
Yes-No, if no, why?
As I asked myself these questions, I added a mental check to the ones that I did answer "No". It was not until I decided to knock the mental wall of stubbornness down and build the wall of happiness by sleeping, listening to music, finding scripture, and eventually talking those series of events through with someone.
That was my process of checking my attitude checklist, I would love to hear from you all The Royal Court, let me know what's on your attitude checklist.
