YES To Love
Saying yes to love was probably one of the hardest things that I have done in my life. I had to truly understand what love is and I had to start with loving ME first. The R&B Diva's have a song named Lovin Me, the lyrics of the song state, "I found me a place, where I ain't doing nothing but loving myself and everything about me. I found myself a place and it doesn't even matter, what nobody else thinks because I'm loving me.
When I said yes to love, I said yes to loving my flaws and all. I am saying yes and accepting in my heart that God loves me and he has already validated me. I walk the world a lot differently now that I know and understand who is my source. It is when I was able to accept the fact that God loves me is when I was able to accept love and give love in a manner that's pleasing to God.
I use to think that love was supposed to take my breath away until I was there hanging like some strange fruit and honey that is not love that's a lynching.
The 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 type of love is the best love, God tells us what love is in those scriptures:
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.8 Love never fails.
and I had to start asking myself the following questions:
Am I patient with myself
Am I kind to myself
Do I look at others with an envious heart
Do I keep a record of wrongdoing with myself and others
and to be honest do a heart check, I did not always like the answer and sometimes I still don't like the answer but now I know and I am aware that love starts with ME. The heart checks allow me to stay in alignment with the one who is love -GOD!
So when I said yes to love I said yes to God's love for me. I said yes to loving me and loving me enough to say no to the things and people that drain me, and don't deserve or appreciate me. I said yes to accepting the unconditional love from my friends and family and lastly, I said yes to #TieTheKnox, as God crowned him, he crowned my left hand.
Cheers to saying yes to many more crowning moments
