A 5-Step Formula for Focus
January 2024 exceeded all my prayers and expectations. The abundance of blessings witnessed in January stemmed from my unwavering commitment to remain grounded in my God-given purpose and my determination to remain steadfast in the presence of the Savior, for the weight of the crown was not an option to bear lightly. I was designed to rule and reign.
A 5-Step Formula for Focus:
1. The Father: Reflecting on Matthew 14:25-31, where Peter walks on water, we witness the remarkable achievements possible when our focus is solely on Jesus. Conversely, doubts arise and hinder progress when our focus wavers. Imagine the impact of directing your focus solely on the Father and pursuing assignments aligned with Christ rather than conforming to cultural expectations. Your fruit reflects your focus.
2. Obedience: I've learned that obedience brings rest and assurance, regardless of circumstances. Observing Jesus in John's gospel, I marveled at his unwavering focus on fulfilling his earthly mission despite opposition from culture and religion.
3. Calling: While our overarching purpose is to glorify God, our unique path to achieving this defines our calling. It encompasses the tasks and responsibilities God assigns to guide us toward our ultimate purpose.
4. Unity with Self and Others: Internal harmony is crucial. Disharmony within ourselves often leads to discord in our relationships. Just as poor customer service reflects internal disarray within a business, many individuals project their unresolved issues onto others instead of seeking internal healing.
5. Service: Referencing 1 Peter 4:10, we're reminded that God gifts each of us with unique talents to serve one another. Prioritizing service prevents us from becoming solely focused on profit-making and neglecting the ministry of people. While charging for services is important, maintaining a posture of service within our businesses ensures we honor our gifts and serve others well.
